Dr Jyoti Kapoor has done her schooling from Lady Irwin School, New Delhi and pre medical from Hindu College, New Delhi. She graduated with her MBBS degree from University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), New Delhi in 1980. She has done her House Job in Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynaecology from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi and Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1986 from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. She has worked in Girdhari Lal Municipal Corporation Hospital, Central Government Hospital (R K Puram) and Moolchand Hospital (all in New Delhi). She then married Dr Ashok Kapoor and shifted to Jamshedpur where she worked for 10 years in Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (1987-1997). She left her job to found Dr Kapoor's Clinic and started her private practice in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Ultrasound.

Dr. Jyoti Kapoor completed her DNB (Radiodiagnosis) training from 2004-2007 at Tata Main Hospital with a thesis on Enteroclysis Spiral CT in Small Bowel Disorders.
